Before I came into my position at Taylor the only promotional materials for MLK day was a flyer sent to the students. I joined the executive committee that year and we wanted to draw more community attention to this special day. The students had the day off and we scheduled a prayer breakfast, special chapel, afternoon workshops and an evening concert. I presented a logo to the committee, one that can be changed from year to year with only a change to the date. I designed a large format 11 x 17 poster, and I placed two ads in the local papers (one full page, one 1/4). We saved a little money and at the same time made the day's schedule more impressive by combining the days events with the student/staff mailer. 3.625 x 8
