| The editor of the Taylor Times left "midstream" in the early spring of 1997 and the department wound up with the responsibility of publishing the internal newsletter that has a circulation of approximately 800 pieces, biweekly. I worked on the Taylor Times for nine issues, which is eighteen weeks while upper management decided if we should continue the newsletter. In that time I did pricing research and changed the format from an 11x17 tabloid style paper to a 8.5x11 size issue, and changing to a more appropriate paper stock. Thus saving the university anywhere from $4,000 - $5,000 a year. I also did a complete redesign of the publication, and learned that a newsletter design is _much_ different than any brochure, magazine or ad. |
